The foliate carved dipped top rail above a paper-scroll carved vasiform splat above a drop-in needlework upholstered seat, the shaped apron on floral and acanthus carved cabriole legs and pierced claw and ball feet, the rounded back legs joined by a stretcher; back rails stamped III and VIII.

Chair III: repaired break to top rail at the juncture of splat and small triangular patch to top, repairs and age cracks to top of front left leg, age crack to veneer of apron, later corner blocks, both feet lacking front, center and right claws, old marks and scratches, scuffs to feet.
Chair VIII: repaired breaks to top rail at juncture of stiles and splat, splat lacking right paper-scroll, left side lacking front corner block, age crack to top of seat rail of right leg, lacking front and back ear to right leg, left foot lacking left and center claws, right foot lacking center claws, old marks and scratches, scuffs to feet.
