The primary version of this beautiful composition, now in the Musée du Louvre, is attributed to the great master of the Carracci school, Annibale Carracci (1560-1609). There is another version in the Museo Nacional del Prado, attributed to the Bolognese artist Girolamo Bonini (ca. 1600-1680).

Old Master & 19th Century Paintings & Drawings
Wax relined. Frame rubbing around the edges. Several dents in the canvas from pressure from the back. Shadows and contours reinforced. Scattered other areas of restoration.
