A complete set of proof plates from "The Seats of Nobility and Gentry in a Collection of the most interesting picturesque Views." London: W. Watts, 1779-86. Full green morocco, gilt ruled boards, spine gilt lettered and decorated, all edges gilt. 18 x 11 1/2 inches; engraved title, 84 proof engravings, and accompanying letterpress text leaves mounted to larger album sheets. Wear to extremities, the leather faded and darkened in places, the text block starting to separate from the spine at the front, foxing to the title and plates, some of the text leaves a bit toned, one text leaf with a large tear, bookplate and laid-in calling card of Henry Phipps.
