MERCATOR, RUMOLD. Orbis Terrae Compendiosa Descriptio. Duisberg: 1587 (but 1623 or later). Hand-colored engraving, text in Latin on verso; 11 ½ x 20 ¾ inches folded in the frame, the sheet measures 18 1/2 x 22 1/2 inches. Framed. The sheet has been folded at the top, bottom, and sides to fit into the frame and hide the large blank areas in the margins, old central fold, the paper is lightly toned, two spots near the margins, a short marginal tear at the bottom of the sheet not visible when framed.
