Fine Meissen Figure of a Strolling Minstrel, Modelled by J.J. Kaendler
Circa 1736
Seated, his legs kicked out in a nonchalant manner whilst holding and playing the Hurdy-Gurdy whilst in song, wearing a black hat, blue jacket and yellow breaches, white gaiters and black shoes, on an irregularly molded rocky base. Crossed swords mark in underglaze blue to the base.

Also an example in the Museo Giuseppe Gianetti, Saronno, published in Porcellane di Meissen, no. 167 p.180.

In good condition, the base with miniscule hairline firing crack.
