German Baroque Gilt-Silver-Mounted Agate Twin-Handled Inkwell with Cover
First half 17th century
The vertical ribbed bulbous agate body surmounted by a cylindrical circular neck mounted with pierced gilt-silver scrolling foliate border and applied with scrolled handles modeled with boar heads and engraved with flower heads and trelliswork, the pierced cover surmounted by a finial in the shape a a bacchante pouring a goblet while holding a ewer.
