Ovoid painted front and back with a quayside scene in the manner of Morin, within chased gilt rocaille cartouche, reserved on a turquoise ground beneath four gilt-foliate-edged apertures around the shoulder, the domed cover similarly pierced, the flower finial associated, on a white and gilt banded foot, blue interlaced L's mark, the form designed by Jean-Claude Duplessis, height 10 ¼ inches.

The ground color heavily crazed with severely flaking on the cover, the flower finial a replacement, large firing flaw to the socle, large crack to interior, drilled and likely once mounted as a lamp.
