Struck with his second maker's mark 1820-1826, with Parisian post-revolutionary unofficial standard mark for 18-karat gold, the
rectangular box with rounded corners, the cover centred with a shaped octagonal cartouche chased with the initials E F T on a sablé ground, within chased gold foliate borders, the base and concave sides with panels of engine-turning.
Height 0.73inch (18.5 mm), width 3 inches (77 mm), depth 1.81 inches. (46 mm).

Notes:Simon-Achille Leger, a Parisian goldsmith active during the first half of the 19th Century, is recorded as a maker of refined snuff boxes and luxury gold boxes in the Restauration and Louis-Philippe pereiod. His work is known for elegant proportions and crisp chasing.
