The ovoid body chased with panels of foliate scrolls, the center with presentation inscription engraved Seventh Dragoon Guards Regimental Challenge Cup and winners dated 1870 to 1879, the reverse chased with a cavalry battle scene, with foliate reeded handles, the cover with a horse and rider finial. Height overall 24 1/2 inches (62 cm), approximately 140 ounces.

English & Continental Silver
Generally good condition overall; clearly and fully hallmarked; the cover a bit tight fitting and the finial has a flat base while the cover is slightly domed leaving a gap (but finial also marked Elkington); the foot with dents and splitting to seam at base
