Prominent Florida Estates & Collections at Doyle

The extensive collection of avid sportsman Bartlett Burnap of Palm Beach and Sun Valley, Idaho, featured exceptional examples of Western Art, Sporting Art and works by California artists. Following previews from coast to coast, the highly successful sale was led by Carl Rungius’ majestic The Old Man of the Mountains that realized $216,400.

The Estate of Barbara Wainscott of Palm Beach, a protocol expert and philanthropist who counted presidents and the British Royal family among her friends, featured an exceptional collection of dazzling jewelry highlighted by a Fancy Yellow diamond ring of 22.96 carats that achieved $384,500 and a Ceylon sapphire ring of 46.31 carats that realized $150,000.

Property from the Estate of Mrs. Henry Ford II more than tripled expectations as bidders from around the world vied for elegant furniture, decorations, artwork and books from her lavish Palm Beach mansion. Highlighting the sale was Friench artist Olivier Debre’s Personnage Fonce (Bleu - Bleu Noir) that sold for $214,200—A U.S. Auction Record for the Artist.

The Collection of philanthropist Jay I. Kislak of Miami offered art, antiquities, rare books and maps with a particular focus on Florida and the Caribbean. Sold to benefit the Kislak Family Foundation, the Collection featured the rare I. G. Searcy map of the Florida territory published in 1829 that achieved a record $44,100.
