NEW YORK, NY -- Doyle's auction of Important Jewelry on Tuesday, April 12, 2022 at Noon showcased luxurious jewelry spanning the Antique, Victorian, Edwardian, Art Nouveau, Art Deco and Modern eras by the world’s most prestigious makers, including Cartier, Van Cleef & Arpels, Schlumberger Monture and Tiffany & Co. Featured was a selection of Fancy Blue diamonds, dazzling rings, necklaces, brooches and bracelets set with diamonds, colored stones, jade and natural pearls. The selection of luxury timepieces featured an important Art Deco desk clock by Cartier and fine watches by Rolex, Patek Philippe and Harry Winston.
With competitive international bidding, the sale totaled an exceptional $3,897,495, surpassing the pre-sale estimate of $2,578,800-3,738,400 with a strong 95% lots sold.
The top lot of the sale was an exquisite Art Deco desk clock circa 1925 by Cartier that soared past its estimate of $60,000-80,000 to realize a staggering $359,100. The clock was from The Estate of Kathryn Graham.
