AFFAIRS of STATE Celeste Holm's red morocco scrapbook for Affairs of State, 1950-51.
Red morocco album by Alpha with slipcase, gilt lettered on the cover. 15 x 11 inches. A few minor scratches and bumps.

Celeste Holm's finely bound scrapbooks for Affairs of State, the major Broadway play starred in by Ms. Holm between the filming of Gentleman's Agreement and All About Eve in 1950. Affairs of State, written specifically for her by Louis Verneuil. This was the first work in English for the popular French playwright and he was thrilled at the prospect of working with Celeste Holm. The Washington D.C. set comedy was a Broadway success running over 600 performances. This album contains mounted clipping and reviews, playbills, about twenty-five 8 x 10 inch black and white production photographs stamped Vandamm. A fine album from an important role and highly regarded role.
