The leather-lined octagonal top fitted with two bookrests on steel ratchets, above four secretaire frieze drawers opening to small drawers, two fitted with leather-lined bookrests on steel ratchets, interspered by cedar-lined triangular drawers fitted for inkwells and pen rests, the whole rotating above a square base with reeded canted corners and opposing doors opening to a shelved interior. Height 30 inches (76.2 cm), diameter 65 inches (165.1 cm).

Good quality, with previous restorations, leather panels later, old marks and scratches, perishing to varnish and scuffs to frieze drawers, underside of top with brass rollers, top of base with corresponding iron ring, sunfading, age cracks to veneers of sides and doors of base, scuffs to plinth, handles possibly later, lacking one loop to handle. some loops bent, replaced moldings to tops of canted corners of base; top of base with inscription No. 28 and an illegible inscription underneath, possibly Tom P ....
