[DAGUERREOTYPE--PORTRAIT] Group of ten sixth-plate portrait daguerreotypes with Anson blue vignettes
and similar patent vignettes (including one mourning border). One by Newcomer's Gallery, Philadelphia (T.H. Newcomer, 1858-60), the rest unsigned, 1850s and early 1860s. Housed in moulded leather cases. Four lacking case covers, but in all an attractive group of images.
A fascinating small study collection illustrative of the variety of patent image borders available to Daguerreians.
