Two Russian Silver Tea Glass Holders
2nd Artel, St Petersburg, 1908-1917 and maker's mark Cyrillic EK, St. Petersburg, 1899-1904
Each cylindrical, with loop handle, on a spreading circular foot, one repoussé with scrollwork and whorls, centering a vacant oval cartouche, the other with an engraved inscription: When you drink tea / You will remember me / W.G. Height of larger 5 inches (12.7 cm), total approximately 15.3 ounces (480 grams).

NEW YORK, NY – Doyle's auction on October 16, 2024 drew international competition for Old Master & 19th Century Paintings, Drawings & Prints. Determined bidders on both sides of the Atlantic vied for landscapes, still lifes, portraits, and religious and mythological subjects by European artists from the Renaissance through the 19th century.
Highlighting the sale was an early 18th century nautical painting by Dutch artist Adriaen van Salm (1660-1720) that achieved $127,500. Old Master drawings featured a beautifully executed rendering in brown ink and wash from the Collection of Eldo Netto depicting Archers in a Landscape that soared past its estimate to realize $32,000 amid speculation that it was possibly by the 17th century French master Claude Lorrain.
