Both paintings: Glue relined. Condition similar to that of other 17th-century portraits of this type. Impasto somewhat compressed; some small repaired tears and holes; areas of restoration to address abrasion around the edges. Some restoration to the faces and hands of both sitters. The contours of the hands and heads, and shadows on the clothing (dress, boots, collars) and in the hair reinforced. Scattered touches of restoration in the background. Some light craquelure.
