PARET, J. PARMLY. Methods and Players of Modern Lawn Tennis. New York: American Lawn Tennis, 1915. The first deluxe edition, one of 200 copies signed by the author. Especially bound in full black pebbled morocco decorated with a tennis player to the cover and lettering all in gilt 9 1/4 x 6 1/4 inches (24 x 16 cm); 295 pp., illustrated after photographs. The front joint split and the spine detaching, some spotting and toning within but generally clean, with two signatures of A.L. Hoskin, president of the USLTA; Offered with the first trade edition of the same in gilt decorated cloth. Plates after photographs. Fade and rubbing to spine, ink ownership signature at front.
