The present basket is one of only five known. A second was included in the Rous Lench Collection, Vol. 1, Sotheby's 1 July 1986, lot ??. Two are in the collection at Williamsburg, object no. 1964-452,1, reference, John C. Austin, Chelsea Porcelain at Williamsburg, 1997, p. 58, fig. 39. This pair, having red dragon and tiger decoration, were formerly in the Collection of the Marquess of Exeter, Burghley House (Sold Christie's 13 July 1959); Sir John and Lady Corah (purchased at above sale through Tilley & Co. and sold to Tilley & Co., London in 1964. The fifth is currently in the Burghley Collections and is decorated with a coiled iron-red phoenix and scattered sprigs and flowers, object no. CER0667.
