Copy 379 of 485 copies, this a presentation copy to the author's fellow Derrydale author Philip Babcock "from one woodcocking, grousing Yankee to another" dated August 12, 1940; with two important letters to the recipient laid in, one on yellow legal paper in pencil, the other typed, dated 1946 and 1943 respectively. 11 x 8 1/2 inches (28 x 22 cm); 130 pp. seven tipped-in color plates by A. Lasell Ripley . Light wear.
