DURUY, GEORGE. Memoirs of Barras. London: Osgood, McIlvaine, 1896. An extra-illustrated set with over 200 portraits and views, many in color. 8 volumes. Finely bound by Bayntun-Riviere for Brentanos, NY, in full bluish-green morocco gilt, the covers with elaborate tooling in gilt and blind, the spines tooled and lettered in gilt with raised bands, gilt turn-ins, marbled endpapers, all edges gilt. 8 1/2 x 6 inches (22 x 15 cm); extra-illustrated with plates and views. The spines uniformly toned, some wear to silk ribbon page markers, some offsetting and possible spotting to marbled, the latter possible the result of dampstain, a well bound and attractive set.
