The feather-banded hinged top with rounded corners and later brown tool-leather lined interior, candle stands guinea wells above a shaped frieze on shell-carved carbiole legs and claw and ball feet.

Concertina action probably later, top with sunfading, shrinkage, warping, scratches and gauges, with slight smile when closed, one side sits higher when opened, age cracks, lifting, rippling, losses and replacements to veneers throughout, traces of inactive worming, repairs to tops of back legs at juncture of frieze, old marks and scratches, chips and losses to feet.
