Comprising: SMITH, E.[DWIN]; after STEPHEN LUDLUM. A Map of Ground Situated Between the Bowery Road and Broad Way in the Eighth Ward the Property of Mr. Anthony Bleeker Surveyed and Laid in Lots. "New York, Stephen Ludlum, city surveyor, 1811 / copied from the original by E. Smith, 6 Jany, 1829." Manuscript map on paper, drawn in ink and hand colored in yellow, old linen backing. 29 7/8 x 11 1/8 (76 x 28.5 cm). Soiling, some tiny chips and tears to edges, some pencil annotations, linen backing with both old and modern manuscript and ink stamped annotations, the corners of the lots have been pricked for transferring; and SMITH, E[DWIN]; after EDW. DOUGHTY. Map of Ground in the Eighth Ward of the City of New York belonging to William Israel. "New York, February 22, 1825, Edw. Doughty, City Surveyor / Copied from the original Jun 9, 1828 by E. Smith." Manuscript map on Whatman 1825 watermarked paper, drawn in ink and hand colored in pink, yellow, green and brown, modern linen backing. 12 1/4 x 32 1/2 inches (31 x 82.75 cm). Soiling, long closed tear, a few small marginal chips, pencil annotations, modern ink annotations to backing.
