  • Consignments Are Currently Being Accepted for Future Auctions

NEW YORK, NY -- Doyle closed the 2024 auction season with the popular Doyle+Design sale on Wednesday, December 18, 2024. Showcased was an exciting array of Modern and Contemporary furniture, art and design by prominent designers, artists and makers of the 20th and 21st centuries.

Highlighting the sale were two lots of cast reliefs by Italian-American artist Costantino Nivola (1911–1988) that soared over their estimates of $2,000-4,000 and $7,000-10,000 to achieve $35,200 and $28,160, respectively. Nivola was one of first artists to settle on the East End of Long Island, where he was a key figure in the development of the Hamptons’ vibrant art scene during the heyday of Abstract Expressionism. Renowned for his innovative use of materials like plaster and concrete, he seamlessly blended modernist aesthetics with organic forms, reflecting his deep connection to nature.
