Fischer & Mieg Painted Porcelain Portrait Plaque of a Lady as a Vestal Virgin
Late 19th/early 20th century
Of rectangular form, depicting a young woman dressed in a diaphanous gown and head veil, in a seated pose with an oil lamp in her hand, in reverie, artist-signed A.E. Eckardt, impressed F&M, framed. Height of plaque 20 3/4 inches, width 15 3/8 inches.

Plaque: appears to be in good, undamaged condition; examined out of frame; there are approximately two small shallow flake/chip losses to the rim edge of the plaque on the reverse side, not of great consequence; there are some scattered small shallow circular depressions to the body surface of the plaque, visible on the front side, in the making; currently, there is no carboard backing (plaque is exposed at the back); not black lighted
