BURR, AARON
Autograph letter signed ("Aaron Burr") to "Elisha" (Elias) Boudinot. New York: 21 September 1793. 12 x 8 inches (30 x 20 cm); single-page letter on a folded sheet with the integral address panel on the conjugate leaf. Portion of address leaf clipped away, light browning along folds.
After six years of practicing law in New York, Burr had been elected to the U.S. Senate. This is written in his legal capacity, and demands funds from the Livingston estate (perhaps that of William Livingstone (1723-1790), a signer of the Constitution and late Governor of New Jersey): "The Debts due from Mr Livingstons Estate are become so pressing that we can allow no longer indulgence to the Creditors. Mr Reade joins me in entreating that you will make the most speedy settlement of the Debts in your hands to collect - Atkinson's being the most considerable sum is particularly relied on."
