LAWRENCE, GERTRUDE
Three signed letters to Celeste Holm about the American Red Cross War effort. Comprising: a typed letter signed, 13 April 1944, on sheet of Lawrence's personal stationery, 11 x 8 3/4 inches; a typed letter signed, 27 February 1945, on one sheet of the same stationery, signed by Lawrence as Chairman of the Legitimate Theatre Division of the American Red Cross War Fund; a typed letter signed on the stationery of the Red Cross 1945 War Fund New York Chapter stationery dated 22 January 1945; and a secretarially signed letter on the same stationery dated 26 March 1945. All with folds but generally fine.

The first letter here thanks Celeste Holm for use of "beautiful song for the chaps overseas ... I shall never fail to tell the boys of your generosity." The 1945 letters report on fundraising efforts and Ms. Holm's volunteering as a Captain for a Red Cross Drive.
