Maker's mark Cyrillic ER, apparently Moscow, 1899-1908
Rectangular, the saint realistically painted, raising his right hand in a blessing and holding the varicolored enamel Gospels in his left hand, his vestments repoussé and chased, with a varicolored enamel halo, all within strapwork borders, the corners with varicolored enamel foliate motifs. Height 12 1/4 inches (31 cm), width 10 1/2 inches (26.7 cm).

In good condition; the edges of the riza bent; the surface of the panel with craquelure.
