Modern vellum over boards. 11 5/8 x 7 3/8 inches (19.5 x 19 cm); (12), 221 pp.; extra-engraved title, 16 copper-engraved plates on 15 sheets, double page or folding, illustrating soldiers, troops and battles; numerous engraved headbands and initials. Some wear to the binding, the folding plates with some restorations and a few minor losses, the text with minor soiling, a few letters wormed on one leaf.
First edition of an important treatise devoted to the training of cavalry troops, including lancers, arquebusiers, cuirassiers and others.
