Regency Brass-Inlaid Mahogany Octagonal Library Table
Circa 1815
Attributed to Marsh and Tatham. The Octagonal top with four drawers and Greek Key and Scroll Brass inlays, the leather inset top with a Gilt Tooled Greek Key border. The pedestal base with Lion's Paw Brass Casters. The Greek Key and scrolled brass inlay on the frieze closely resembles the inlay on the Anglesey desk by Marsh and Tatham. The Anglesey desk was sold Christies, London, July 8, 1993 realizing 1.76 million pounds, at the time the highest price ever achieved for English furniture.

Staining & scratching to leather; cracking to veneer; losses to ebonized molding above the drawer mahogany secondary wood; minor veneer replacements; warping to one false drawer; gap between top & one drawer from warping; cracks to base, especially near one foot; some mounts loose.
