Two volumes, original light green wrappers with the price of "900 Francs" to the rear cover of each volume, housed in a leather-backed case. 6 7/8 x 4 1/2 inches (17.5 x 11 cm): 188 pp.; 222 pp. Very light wear to the extremities of these notoriously fragile volumes, a minute separation to the foot of the joint of volume one (about 1 cm), but in all an exceptionally nice, unsophisticated set.
The first edition of Nabokov's classic, the first issue, before the stickers altering the price to "1200 Francs" were affixed to the rear covers. The work is difficult to find in attractive condition as here.
