Publisher's blue cloth, the cover stamped in blind and the spine in gilt, without jacket. 7 3/8 x 4 3/4 inches (19 x 12.5 cm); 299, [1] pp. The cloth rubbed with loss of the blue coloration, perhaps over-cleaned, faint traces of ink in the blind-stamped letters on the front cover, generally a clean copy internally, though a little overopened in a few places with a little staining in the extreme gutter margin, rear hinge weakening at top.
The first edition of Joyce's great autobiographical novel, published two months before the same sheets were issued as the first English edition. Slocum & Cahoon A11.
