Grigoriev was allowed two sittings with President Tomas Masaryk at the Presidential residence in Lany Castle, on the outskirts of Prague in 1932. There he made several preparatory drawings, one of which is illustrated in
Tamara Galeeva's Boris Dmitrievich Grigoriev, St Petersburg, 2007, p. 172.
