Sale Total Surpasses Expectations Amid Competitive Bidding
NEW YORK, NY -- Competitive bidding drove exceptional prices at Doyle’s September 14, 2023 auction in the popular category of Fine Jewelry. Highlighting the sale was a dazzling diamond pendant that soared past its estimate of $10,000-15,000 to achieve a stunning $144,900.
Also performing strongly at the auction were fine watches, with a Rolex gold and diamond 'Datejust' wristwatch estimated at $4,000-6,000 and a Rolex gentleman's stainless steel and gold 'Datejust' wristwatch estimated at $2,000-3,000 each realizing the identical price of $10,080.
The sale showcased a wide array of stylish creations by such makers as by Cartier, David Webb, Van Cleef & Arpels, Christian Dior, Buccellati, Elizabeth Locke, Seaman Schepps and Tiffany & Co., as well as fine watches by Rolex, Piaget and Patek Philippe.
