Bound in contemporary full vellum, brown leather spine label, edges sprinkled red, custom cloth slipcase. 10 1/4 x 7 1/4 (26 x 18.5 cm); [2], viii, [2], ccxxxiii, [1] pp., half title, engraved allegorical frontispiece, engraved portrait of dedicatee, engraved portrait of author, and numerous engraved head- and tail-pieces, engraved initials throughout, some of which are pasted down over typographic initials. Light soiling and wear to vellum, spine label chipping along edge, contents bright with only occasional pale spots at pasted down initials, overall a very well preserved copy.
