Contemporary calf, rebacked. 6 1/4 x 3 1/2 inches (16 x 9 cm); vol I: xxii, [2], 308, [4] pp., with 3 leaves of ads., vol II: vii, [1], 304 pp. Calf worn and dry, rebacked, losses to spine labels, hinges reinforced, contents with occasional toning and spotting, front free endpaper of vol. II tipped to the title along gutter, old ownership signatures in vol. I, sold as is.
The second edition, published the same year as the first, of Fielding's first full-length novel, a comic parody of Richardson's Pamela.
