NEW YORK, NY -- Doyle is honored to present property from the Collection of Elizabeth Dater Jennings & William Mitchell Jennings, Jr. as features of the Doyle at Home auction on June 2 and the Americana in Boston auction on June 5. The offerings reflect decades of discerning collecting and include Americana, furniture, artwork, samplers, Staffordshire figures and decorative arts.

Elizabeth Dater Jennings had a distinguished, trailblazing career in investment management as one of the first female media analysts on Wall Street. Over the course of her career, she worked at Lehman Brothers, Fiduciary Trust Company of New York, and Warburg Pincus Asset Management, rising to Managing Director and Director of Research. She later served on Warburg Pincus’s Operating Committee before joining Credit Suisse Asset Management’s Americas Management Committee following its merger. A respected investor and frequent panelist on Wall Street Week, she was also a passionate advocate for women’s advancement and served on numerous boards, including The New-York Historical.

William Mitchell Jennings, Jr. built a distinguished career at Bear Stearns, where he spent his entire professional life after joining the firm in the 1970s. Rising to Chairman overseeing institutional investment relationships, he managed the firm’s key client relationships across the investment banking sector. He was widely respected for his leadership and was a committed mentor, particularly supportive of women in finance, whom he actively encouraged and advanced throughout his career.

Mitch and Beth began collecting shortly after their marriage in September 1977, dividing their time between homes in New York and Greenwich. United by a shared appreciation for Americana and American history, they built a collection of remarkable depth and character, acquired over decades of focused collecting through country sales and antique fairs, as well as New York’s Winter Antiques Show and leading dealers such as the Keno brothers, Israel Sack and M. Finkel & Daughter. Together, they assembled a collection distinguished by connoisseurship, curiosity and a deeply personal connection to American decorative arts.
