Erin Mandley is the Vice President and General Appraiser in the furniture and decorative arts department, bringing a wealth of experience and expertise to her role. With over 12 years in the auction and gallery industry, Erin has proven to be a leader and an authority in her field.
Erin's career in the industry notably includes serving as the Director of Hayloft Auctions by DOYLE, where she played a pivotal role in the launch of the brand and operation of the full-service antique and furniture auction house.
Prior to joining Doyle, Erin held the position as an auction coordinator for a Chelsea auction house and, subsequently, the director for The Chinese Porcelain Company, New York. In this role, she assisted owner Pierre Durand in the curation of fine Chinese export porcelain, 18th and early 19th century European furniture and decorative art, and new artist exhibitions including botanical artist Carmen Almon and maritime painter Scott Houston McBee. Other exhibitions included The Chinese Porcelain Company’s annual Asia Week exhibitions of fine Chinese contemporary ink painting by artists Tai Xiangzhou, Zhang Yirong, and Liu Dan.
Erin graduated from Hartwick College with a Bachelor’s degree in Art History and Anthropology and received her master’s degree in the subject of American Fine and Decorative Arts and certificate of completion in Art Business from The Sotheby’s Institute of Art, New York. Her thesis “America, Come into your Own: A Case Study of the Christian Heurich House…” serves as original research for the Christian Heurich House Museum in Washington, DC. She has also contributed original research to the Redwood Library of Newport’s portrait collection and is an active member of both the Bronxville Historical Society, Westchester County Historical Society, The Furniture History Society and American Ceramic Circle. Erin is USPAP compliant and an accredited member of the Appraisers Association of America as a Generalist and she is pursuing her certification.
