NEW YORK, NY -- Doyle's auction of Latin American Art on September 24, 2024 presented paintings, drawings, sculpture and prints by prominent artists of the 20th and 21st centuries, representing Central and South America, as well as the Caribbean Islands.

Jorge Noceda Sanchez – A World Auction Record
A 1960 surrealist work by Dominican-born artist Jorge Noceda Sanchez (1931-1987) titled Enchantment soared past its estimate of $1,500-2,500 to realize a stunning $24,320 – A World Auction Record for the Artist. Earning his medical degree from the University of Santo Domingo, he moved to New York to specialize in gastroenterology at New York University. In 1956, he shifted his focus to art, enrolling at the National Academy of Fine Arts, where he studied under artists like Robert Philip and René Bouche.
