Breguet

Founded in Paris in 1775 by Abraham‑Louis Breguet, the House of Breguet is revered as one of the most influential names in horology. Credited with inventing the tourbillon, the self-winding watch, the gong spring for minute repeaters, and early shock-protection systems, Breguet transformed watchmaking into both a science and an art. His clean, neoclassical aesthetic—marked by guilloché dials, blued steel hands, and coin-edge cases—set a design standard still referenced today.

Favored by historical figures such as Marie-Antoinette, Napoleon Bonaparte, and Queen Victoria, Breguet timepieces became emblems of innovation and prestige throughout Europe’s royal courts. In 1815, Breguet was appointed official chronometer-maker to the French Navy, further cementing his reputation for precision and reliability.

Now part of the Swatch Group, the Maison continues to uphold its legacy with modern interpretations of its historic inventions—producing exceptional complications that reflect over two centuries of technical mastery and timeless design.
