Vincennes or Early Sèvres Porcelain Bleu Céleste Ground Lobed Oval Tray (Plateau du Roi, 2ème Grandeur)
Circa 1756, blue interlaced L's enclosing the date letter C and unidentified painter's mark 2, incised potter's mark 8
Painted with two figures fishing before a pastoral riverscape with houses, the border issuing foliage and floral garlands, gilt dentil rim. Width 9 3/4 inches (24.8 cm).
At the time of cataloging, this painter's mark is unattributed but identified as an active painter at Vincennes and Sèvres, circa 1754.
