Six Sterling Silver Sporting Interest Vesta/ Matchsafes
Various makers, late 19th/ early 20th century
Comprising one marked Thomas Hayes, Birmingham, 1893, with a tennis scene, height 1 1/2 inches (3.8 cm); one with a sailboat, 2 1/4 inches (6 cm); one marked William Neale, Birmingham, 1892, with a golfer in relief, height 1 1/2 inches (3.8 cm); one with a woman skiing, height 2 1/2 inches (6.5 cm); another with a scene of a rowing race with Windsor Castle background, 2 1/4 inches (5.8 cm); and the last marked R. Blackinton & Co., with collegate emblems entitled Alma Mater, height 2 1/2 inches (6.3 cm), total approximately 104 dwt.

Rowing at Windsor - apparently marked only sterling; good condition overall; good detail to decoration; hinge good and tight; the cover with small dent
Alma Mater - marked Pat 1904, R. Blackinton & Co.; good condition overall; some rubbing to design; cover good and tight
