NEW YORK, NY -- Doyle held a successful auction of Coins, Stamps, Medals & Sports Memorabilia on August 27, 2021. The sale presented strong sections Coin, Postage Stamps, Medals, Picture Postcards, and some most interesting Sports Memorabilia.
With competitive bidding, the sale totaled a successful $334,505 with an exceptional 96% sold by lot and 100% sold by value.
Coins & Medals
The coins offered a variety of United States silver dollars including two early silver dollars dated 1796 and 1800, along with several lots of Morgan dollars, gold items are represented by United States and Foreign early and modern issues. Also, some groups of US and Foreign medals.
The stamp section was highlighted by several single items such as Austria Dollfuss, US Columbians, 1860 90 cent, along with some solid collection groups replete with high values and certified items, including an interesting offering of picture post cards.
The Sports Collectible field featurd with a newfound treasure, an old filling ledger full of over seven hundred old tobacco cards, including approximately fifty-four early baseball cards, highlighted by a T206 Ty Cobb Mecca Double Folder, from a separate collection was a rare strip of ten early Hall of Famers including Babe Ruth & Ty Cobb listed as W551, a 1957-58 Bill Russell Rooke card, along with several other single sports cards.
