Modern tan leather with red and black lettering labels. 9 x 5 inches (23 x 13 cm); 508 (without ad leaf); 528; 413; 550 pp., bound at the end of volume IV is a review of the work in The United States Review and Literary Gazette, Vol. II, No. 2, May 1827, 160 pp. The titles with the vertical ink signatures of Charles A.F. Swan obscuring some text and the crossed out signatures of Edwin Hutchinson whose signature appears on a few margins within, the text very clean overall with some light foxing to first and last leaves.

A scarce first edition set of Kent's landmark work on American law. We few copies in the recent auction record. Sabin 37473.
