A memoir by Elizabeth Custer, the famous Major General George Armstrong Custer's wife, about army life on the frontier. She is largely credited with the rehabilitation of her husband's legacy through her writings and tireless lobbying. This book contains a chapter that describes a group of women witnessing a buffalo hunt, and another more general account of Custer's hunts around their camp at Big Creek, Kansas.
