St. James's (Charles Gouyn) Porcelain Taperstick Figure of a Putto Emblematic of Autumn
Circa 1750, unmarked
The scantily clad figure modeled seated wearing a yellow drape, pointing with his right hand to a cluster of grapes held in his left, before a long stemmed narcissus issuing blossoms including the foliate nozzle supported on the putto's head, the stump and curved chamfered base painted with flower sprays and scattered sprigs.
Height 4 1/2 inches.
