KNOX, DAVID (1821-1895) Field Telegraph, Battery Wagon,
September 1864. Albumen print on printed mount from Gardner's Photographic Sketch Book of the Civil War with accompanying text leaf, image 7 x 9 inches (178 x 230 mm) on larger mount. Slight fading to print at mount edges, in all excellent tones. Chip to the right margin where extracted from the bound volume, a few spots of foxing to the mount. Framed.
As noted on the imprint below the image, this is 73 in Gardner's series, the negative by Knox, the positive by Alexander Gardner. It is number 73 in the Sketch Book. The text described the importance of the field telegraph to the conduct of the campaign.
