NEW YORK, NY -- Doyle’s recent jewelry auctions have demonstrated the continued buoyancy of the jewelry market as bidders from the United States and elsewhere drive strong prices. The upcoming sale on Wednesday, May 27, 2020 at 12pm provides another exciting opportunity for collectors and enthusiasts to bid on pieces chronicling over a century of jewelry design by the world's most prestigious makers. Fresh from prominent collections and estates, the stylish offerings represent such makers as Van Cleef & Arpels, Cartier, David Webb, Bulgari, Buccellati and Tiffany & Co., as well as watches by Rolex and Patek Philippe.
The Estate of Marion H. (“Bit”) Hutcheson II
Doyle is honored to auction a collection of jewelry from the Estate of Marion H. (“Bit”) Hutcheson II, of Happy Valley Farms, in Rossville, Georgia. Ms. Hutcheson was enormously respected throughout the show horse community, devoting her life to the world-class American Saddlebred training and breeding facility that was started by her parents, the late John L and Marion Hutcheson.
Ms. Hutcheson was remembered in the show ring herself on such prominent horses as CH Lilly Merrill, CH Precious Princess, CH Enlightening, CH In Reality and CH Allege. Hutcheson later turned her focus to breeding – her most famous horse Merchant Prince, a World’s Champion in the Harness division, went on to sire many World’s Champions of his own before his death in 2013.
