Extremities worn, some rubbing and pale staining to cloth, somewhat overopened, scattered foxing, contemporary gift inscription to front free endpaper.
Rare; only one copy listed in WorldCat. "Capper describes his further travels through Ceylon, but of special interest is a detailed description of rounding up elephants in the western part of the island in the late 1840s, with the subsequent shooting of two recalcitrant specimens" (Czech). Czech, Asia, p. 43.
