Group of Dodie Thayer Green Glazed Ceramic Lettuceware
Comprising a covered soup tureen, teapot, cream jug, sugar bowl, six oval dishes, four sandwich plates, ten luncheon plates, ten fruit bowls, and six butter pats. Height of tureen 8 3/4 inches, width 13 inches.

Additional Notes & Condition Report

Tureen: there are approximately 15 chips to tip ends of the three upright curled leaf rim edges on the cover; there is a small nick to the bottom rim edge of the cover; a large piece of one of the large outer leaves of the tureen body is missing and the exposed white flat edge has been poorly partly colored to minimize the contrast and damage; there are numerous other scattered chips and flake losses to the other rim edges of the upright curled leaves; there do not appear to be any hairline cracks to the body; the underside is inscribed "Dodie Thayer Jupiter, Fla. Oct. '82"

Teapot: appears to be in generally good, undamaged condition, with the exception of a small pinhead-size nick to the glaze, which is located at the rim edge near the pouring lip; signed on the underside with the addition of a palm tree symbol; height 6 3/4 inches, length overall 10 3/4 inches

Cream Jug: appears to be in generally good, undamaged condition; signed with the addition of a palm tree symbol

Sugar Bowl: there is a small shallow nick loss to the glaze, located along the inner side rim edge of one of the three protruding leaves, located approximately at mid-height, otherwise, appears to be in generally good condition; signed with the addition of a palm tree symbol

Oval Dishes: each of the six dishes have rim chips or nicks to their glaze; length 10 inches; each is signed with the addition of a pineapple symbol and they are marked Palm Beach rather than Jupiter, Fla.

Sandwich Plates: each of the four plates has at least one small nick loss to the glaze or rim chip; one plate has four small chips; each is signed with the addition of a palm tree symbol (Jupiter, Fla.); each plate has a small circular recess to receive perhaps a small cup or ramekin; width 10 1/4 inches

Luncheon Plates: five of the plates appear to be in generally good, undamaged condition; the other five plates each have at least one small nick or chip to its rim edge; at least one plate has a few such chips; each plate is signed with the addition of a pineapple symbol and Palm Beach; diameter 9 3/4 inches

Fruit Bowls: six of the bowls appear to be in generally good, undamaged condition; four of the bowls have small nicks or rim chips; each is signed with the addition of a a pineapple symbol; diameter (slight variations): 5 1/ 1/2 inches, 5 3/8 inches, etc.

Butter Pats: there are three large-size examples (diam. approx. 4 inches) and three smaller examples (diam. approx. 3 inches); two of the larger examples have bad rim chips/flake losses; the third example has a small pinhead-size nick to its rim edge; two of the smaller examples have bad chips/flake losses to the rim edges, glaze and body; the third example has a small nick to its rim edge; each is signed with the addition of a pineapple symbol
