GOREY, EDWARD Can a Pig Fly?
Four-page manuscript of a children's story, written in black ink on yellow paper, the first portion of the first page typed (with several corrections), the balance (about a thousand words) in Gorey's neat italic hand. Accompanied by about thirty photocopies pages with a rough draft of illustrations and text, these emphatically not in Gorey's hand. Light wear.
A very odd story, in which Big Pig eats a bite of a book called "How to Fly," and subsequently realizes (with the help of his friends) his long-held ambition to take to the air. This he achieves by being inflated like a balloon by his friend Bunny. Manuscripts by Gorey appear to be rare.
